fearfully & wonderfully made

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul kn
ows very well." -Psalm 139:14

This quote - it means so much in many ways of my life, but I love the idea of it in each of those pieces. Specifically in my business, I put so much work and love into each item that is made that I can't help but think they are "fearfully and wonderfully made" with Him in mind as I use my gift to create for others.

I joined a Young Life Bible Study my freshman year of college to help me find "my people." I had struggled for my first few weeks of school and I was looking for a place that made it feel like home. I wanted to love living in Austin, but so far it hadn't happened. The group of girls I was put into and the leaders I was given did just that. We laughed and we cried and they are still some of my greatest friends. I learned a lot through my time with them, but when doing one of our studies this verse stuck with me so well. I can remember repeating it in my head, especially when days weren't so great.

When I was working on the rebranding of my shop and finally finding the way that I really wanted to take my items I would sit and think about what type of tagline could explain my shop. Then one day it dawned me - my products are fearfully and wonderfully made, by me. I wanted to glorify Him in my work that I was creating and using this verse to describe the kind of work I put into my shop did just that. From then on, it stuck. I couldn't think of any other thing that could explain the image I wanted to portray for my shop any better.
